From West Virginia we traveled to Chicago. This was the first time our friends had been to Chicago, a city they found impressively well kept. Our Route 66 trip began a few days later. We traveled across Illinois, over the Mississippi, to St. Louis, Missouri.

We then took a detour to Franklin, Tennessee. Afterwards, we detoured to Pigeon Forge Tennessee, then returned to WV, as our friends continue on to St. Louis, Missouri and the rest of Route 66.
