Our first day in Bavaria; Dirk and Gretel had friends Gerhart, Ingrid Hoffman and their daughter Mauuiela over that
morning to greet us.

The
Rosenheim Oktoberfest. We were guests of the brewery,
Flotzinger Brau.
| Many
attendees wore traditional dirndls and lederhosen. The tent pavilion
accommodates 10,000 people and was beautifully arranged and
accommodated all attendees easily. |

| A view of the vineyards
from the hill above the hotel. |
| |
| Terracing of the hill
side creates areas for vineyards, roads
and water drainage. This is similar to what we observed in northern
Italy, but Italy's grades were actually steeper. |
| |
| We strolled up the hill
behind the hotel and took some pictures. The top left window is our
hotel room. |
