A video clip of Italy's
Mille Miglia with an interesting encounter with 722 and Sterling
Moss at the end.
Mini journal with short narratives:
One of the last
images taken of San Marino as we were getting ready to depart
this fascinating Republic.
Our last view of San
Marino before traveling to our next destination to
Florence, in
the province of
Tuscany. Nearly a 6 hour drive, maybe more with traffic we
encountered in Florence. (I road with Anthony and Holger in the In Jurgen's Maserati).
We came to our
destination. Resting in the hill north of Florence the ancient farm
houses of Coiano offer an oasis of tranquility. We stayed in a
restored 15th century renovated farm house. The country mountain
roads from San Marino to Florence were very beautiful, they reminded
us of the mountains in West Virginia so much.
The morning of our
departure, this is at the lower end of the farmhouse.
Our host, "Donatella"
very graciously provided dinner from 8:30 PM to 11 PM in the main
house of the bed and breakfast.
Packing up and getting
ready to move on to the next adventure.
We left around noon and
came to a nearby town for coffee. Later we moved down the road to
higher ground to view the race cars of the Mille Miglia.
A great vantage point to
observe the cars of the Mille Miglia.
A view from Dirks
Mercedes while joining in the Mille Miglia as it traveled to
Bologna.
722 with Sterling
Moss slows down and give him a
thumbs up!
