We Stayed- About Us Part Two...

President Clinton's Clarksburg WV Visit & More

Though we stayed, I personally turned my attention into creating a Website for my wife which is covered later on. Of course unique situations also occurred in WV. For one,
The First Internet Broadcast of a Presidential Town Hall took place in Clarksburg, West Virginia On May 2, 1997. Whereas, Major & Regional News Networks, Politicians and the Crème De La Crème were in attendance. With my communications job finished I took a ringing phone next to abandoned technology peripherals two minutes before President Clinton was presented.

I answered to to a frantic voice on the other end. Then the First Internet Broadcast of a Presidential Town Hall Meeting was announced minutes later. The First What?
President Clinton looked directly at me where I was thrust into the moment where a lovely ABC News Correspondent planted herself directly next to me, never leaving my side.

Adding to it all was that Bell Atlantic / Verizon had invested greatly in me where I had acquired my Fifth Certification four weeks earlier in a then Intranet / Internet. So, I was
not only caught cold, if the Internet Town Hall failed I'd be blamed, if all went well only a few would know.

The Town Hall ended and the News Media immediately came at me, pushing their microphones over each other where my chair tips backwards and I wave them off. Where one Newscaster stayed and civilly asks if the Picture Tel Video Conferencing Equipment was the Internet? I inform her it wasn't where she asks if she could use said Conferencing Equipment for her News Report on the Internet. I tried to explain but the Internet was thrust upon the pubic via a President.

European Excursions

A host of West Virginia citizens assisted a foreign
couple in distress, who had a car like our 1956 Imperial where I was called for help. All of
which, led to a friendships and incomprehensible American and European Excursions and Adventures to come.

In addition to our new friends, a few others stick out. A Vatican historian and lexicon of knowledge. A philanthropist of continual motion, who would pen historical volumes and take the proceeds to purchase supplies for the poor and then accompany the supplies to their designated locations to cut out corruption. He challenging anyone's perspective of life, death and the meaning of it all. A great collector of postage stamps, he'd be honored with his own image on an Austrian Postage Stamp.

European Sentiments

We were taken to places few Americans had been before. We also entering an American Flagged 1959 Imperial in Eger Hungary's International land rally where it was judge superior to a Russian-era luxury sedan parked next to us.

All in all, very successful excursions, as shared in the sentiments below...

"They want to know when the Americans are coming back"

"I would have to make a list of the people who send their regards"

"They were pleased by the respect shown towards the historic and cultural aspects of their country"

"You have represented your country well; You are from America, so they love America"

"To think Americans, Germans, Hungarians and Romanians all at one table"

"Hello, Valerie, hello, Anthony and family...We have received the package .... It is a miraculous recollection of a wonderful holiday with you…"

"I was surprised to come across your painstaking preparation of Hungarian Goulash and thought that your German friends might like to know about my new book on the famous Hungarian dessert wine...The title is 'Tokajiine - Fame, Fate, Wine..."

Oh The Mountain State"  -- "Ah Flatlanders I See"

While in Toronto Canada my wife asked where she was from? She answered WV where the response was respectful and emotional: "Oh The Mountain State."

Years later, on May 22, 2011, we were driving down Austria's Grossglockner Mountain Range where we had to stop as for our overheated brakes. Our friend told the mechanic we were from WV where the mechanic responded "Oh Flatlanders I See".

All of which explains www.trigoot.com. A crossover website covering our excursions in West Virginia, America, Canada, Western and Central Europe as briefly illustrated within the video on the right side.
