Our European Friends & Acquaintances...

Our friend Dirk Bensinger was the retired Worldwide Sales Chief for Daimler-Mercedes in Stuttgart, Germany. His family’s legacy in automotive engineering is extraordinary. His father, Wolf-Dieter Bensinger, was the engineer behind the engines and drivetrains that powered the Mercedes 300SL “Gullwing”—the world’s first true supercar—as well as the Mercedes Adenauer.

Dirk also mentioned Felix Wankel visiting their home toward having his father Wolf granting approval for his Wankal Rotary Engine.

Dirk’s brother was the creator of the "first of its kind" car from Audi engineer Jörg Bensinger, who created the  world’s first production four-wheel-drive car: the Audi Quattro

Dirk himself possessed wide-ranging international business connections, and he developed a particular fascination with West Virginia—its landscape, its culture, and especially its people. He often remark that in Germany people had one profession, while I seemed to juggle many.

Great For The State...

During 2004, my wife approached me with great excitement and asked whether we could do something “great for the State of West Virginia.” It would involve extensive international travel, a large assortment of vintage automobiles, and the garage store them. I also created the website www.myimperials.com  to be a natural bridge between West Virginia and Various European Locales.

Yet the dichotomy of criminal interests we had been facing since 1999 forced us to hide as much as I could to avoid upending all the WV positives we had spent a great deal of time and money supporting. This led to splitting off the positive West Virginia-focused material into its own website of: www.trigoot.com.

Nonetheless, I initially balked at her request where she reminded me that my earlier venture—our legal-financial book business AVLIMITED.COM—had once drawn national attention. Whereas, in 1996, venture capital interests had even ranked it second only to a then bookseller called Amazon, and ahead of a then-juvenile legal publisher, NOLO.com. All of this unfolded in the "Wild West" era of the early internet, where many wanted a piece of what we were building—while all I wanted was to retreat.

By 2005, the “Great for West Virginia” vision was well underway— which I briefly touched upon in the piece titled “How Could This Have Been Allowed to Happen.” West Virginia—its people, opportunities, and future—had become central to our efforts, especially following a dire surrounding developer West Virginia event in May 2005 while we were in Tuscany.

Chrysler Nationals

In 2006, during the Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Dirk and I were searching for a replacement rear taillight for a friend’s beautiful 1961 Chrysler New Yorker that had been rear-ended in Germany. We found one for $1,500. Nearby, a dealer had just purchased another 1961 New Yorker—this one badly damaged after falling nose-first off a car hauler. I bought the entire car for $2,000, brought it home, removed its rear taillight, and sent the part back to Germany with Dirk for his friend.

Over time, I located another taillight to replace the one I had given away, along with front fenders and a sub-frame. I installed everything and even matched the original 50-year-old black paint so perfectly that no one could distinguish the repair from the factory finish.

We flew to Germany in 2009 and were picked up at the airport by the man with the now rear taillight replaced red 1961 Chrysler Newyorker.

Dinner Time...

Dinner time is special in Germany—everyone sits together and exchanges stories. Unbeknownst to us at the time, stories about the “Two Americans” had already spread. The Americans who bought an entire car just to get a taillight for a German man they had never met. The same Americans who had welcomed a German couple—total strangers—when their 1959 Imperial broke down in Bridgeport, WV.

The same Americans who'd drive the same vintage car throughout Eastern Hungary in 2008 during a major vintage event.

Clarksburg Bridgeport & The Steal Factors

During 2005, we were in Tuscany listening as our friend Dirk spoke highly of West Virginia to other prominent individuals—praising the state’s Strong Rule of Law, which is the primary factor foreign investors look for. He using us and our home area as examples. Yet while he was speaking, our youngest son called from West Virginia to report that Developmental Partners were tearing into the areas surrounding our home, with bonfires burning everywhere — something as if out of the Lord Of The Rings.

By July of 2007, Dirk—who had praised West Virginia’s Rule of Law just two years earlier—had essentially “punted” after seeing the Dime Store–level repairs done at the adjoining 109 and 113 Platinum Properties. He still loved the people, but the reality he witnessed undercut the confidence he once expressed.

In October 2010, I was rear-ended at a stoplight in broad daylight after having been stopped for about 20 seconds—an accident that ended my already-secured second career with the FBI before it even began.

By January 2011, I was still able to give away my West Virginia Mapping Program for the “Good of the People.” Even so, it did nothing to stop others from trying to steal it for themselves. Apparently, you cannot even give something away without Others Attempting To Steal It.

Exhausted

During October 2011, our visiting European professional friend again expressed a strong interest in us and in West Virginia. He asked that I serve as the trusted central point for his planned property acquisitions in Clarksburg, as detailed in Descendants, Goulash, The Curious, Trains, Lakes And Automobiles.

By that time, I was exhausted. We had already spent eight years of our health and resources dealing with an escalating series of private and governmental developmental maneuvers. Naturally, I wanted to hand off any potential opportunities in Clarksburg or Bridgeport—opportunities that could have delivered meaningful progress for West Virginia—to others within the State. But I couldn’t. The reasons were already clear: I had become the only proven, reliable, and trustworthy figure for such outside interest in West Virginia. And that trust, for better or worse, continued to land squarely on me.

The Realities - Criminal Constructs

Some will look through this extensive website—its images, accounts, and documentation—in hopes of identifying those behind the opportunities once intended for Clarksburg and Bridgeport. Opportunities that should have belonged to the people. One example among many is Descendants, Goulash, The Curious, Trains, Lakes and Automobiles.

Yet both of our European friends, the first in 2007 and the second in 2011, had already witnessed the developmental antics surrounding us—antics they openly described as “criminal constructs.” They also saw the societal, physical, and financial devastation inflicted upon us, devastation for which no one was ever held accountable.

Ultimately, this is what overshadowed and undermined all the positive work we had accomplished. Everything achieved, everything hoped for, fell into the same pattern familiar to so many West Virginians: without integrity and accountability, nothing truly moves forward. And so, we felt an obligation to the people to continue on—despite everything—which leads us to May of 2014.

May Of 2014 - Artificial Disc

I had already researched the German Neurosurgeon that had created the Pro Disc Artificial Spinal Disc. We then landed in Bavaria during May for my then Spinal Surgery. My friend Dirk and his wife were taken back, asking me how did I find said Neurosurgeon??

I had performed my own research and ascertained said German Neurosurgeon had Engineered the PRO DISC ARTIFICIAL SPINAL DISC along with all the Surgical Tools. I doing such research again in 2017 for my wife's Cervical Spinal Discs. Then again for her Surgical Implants for both her hands in 2018. Then her right knee in 2020 after none wanted to touch her.

In any regard, my usual 2.5 hour spinal surgery lasted 7 hours where it appears I almost died. So, much a situation that my German Neurosurgeon stated the MRI's I had brought with us were not of the man, (Me), that he had operated on. (Whereas, years later his PRO DISC ADR'S were the only Artificial Discs Approved by the FDA for Two Level Disc Replacements in America).

Generic Levofloxacin - Devastated For Life

After we returned from my German surgery in May 2014, we were told that my operation had “changed everything" we were now in danger and that I “knew too much.”

Months later, in January 2015, my wife was prescribed the generic drug Levofloxacin for a simple ear infection. She felt pain shortly after starting the medication and called the urgent care clinic to report it. She was told the reaction was normal and to finish the prescription. Nine days later, she was bedfast—unable to move—and her health was devastated for life.

Planting The Flag In NC

By July 2015, we fled our beautiful estate in Bridgeport, West Virginia, and began anew in our home near Asheville, North Carolina—where we intended to Transfer the Flag in regard to all our effort's, European friends, and others, to this new home and region, but we first had to restore and improve the long-neglected NC property.

BEFORE AFTER

The issue was this: The generic Levofloxacin she had been given in January 2015 was continuing to do its damage  where my wife does not complain ,where she would crawl on all fours at times rather than admit that her right foot was killing her.

From November 2016 through October 2020, she would undergo seven surgeries—both in America and in Europe—resulting in seven titanium surgical implants throughout her body: in her foot, neck, hands, and knee.

Compounding it all was a violent fall I suffered at a hotel in September 2018, adding yet another layer of physical and financial strain to the ordeal we were already facing.

Never Failed - 1961 Imperial & West Virginia- Analogies

We never failed at anything we set out to do—our 1961 Imperial being the first proof of it. Before her cervical spine surgery my wife’s head hung down to the left, and only her neck muscles could lift it enough for her to breathe or eat. When we landed at the Munich Airport in October 2017, she was in such extreme pain that she nearly fainted. She only wanted to sit in the rental car and sleep, completely drained and overwhelmed.

On November 7, 2017, she underwent spinal surgery. Her medical results speaks for itself:

We flew back to NC then traveled back to West Virginia to pick up our 1961 Imperial, which only needed paint—the carpeting and full re-chroming had already been completed. All that remained was to put it back together. But once we returned to North Carolina, I realized I could no longer do even that. I eventually sold it to a man in Australia. In that sense, the outside forces we had been fighting for years had also led us to “Fail” with the Imperial—just as those same forces had caused us, unwillingly, to Fail West Virginia.

Summary

How does one even begin to place a price tag on what was lost and taken? On the role I played in demonstrating that West Virginia was ready? On the European opportunities I had spent years cultivating on behalf of the state? On the long-pursued program I created for the "Good Of The People" —one pursued by domestic actors acting which some assumed was on behalf of adversarial foreign interests?

Without real recompense—as in attempts to restore what was lost or what should have been is long over—this website or any public documentation risks becoming nothing more than an ever enlarging tool for the wrong people to refine the very tactics used against us. And while some corporate entities lacked the will or capability to act, others certainly possessed both and did as they simplify slipped away, avoiding accountability entirely. As the 2012 WV Law Firm correctly stated long ago, of our case being beyond the legal capacity of the State of WV to manage. It would now take a Congressional Attentions to make right the years we were forced to fend for ourselves under the direct gaze of the most prominent authorities.
