1970's -- Accommodation

In the 1970s, McDonald's Corporation developers approached Frank Lacaria to request the use of part of his property, as starting construction from his property line on the valley floor would necessitate building a 2-to-1 slope, leaving insufficient space for more than one business, which was not a viable option. Recognizing the potential benefits for the community, Frank's wife, Theresa Lacaria, supported the idea, leading to an easement being granted. As a result, the developers were able to construct their lateral support slope, paving the way for McDonald's establishment and contributing to the area’s growth.

McDonalds and Pizza Hut were then constructed.

A December 2008 Meeting
A meeting takes place at McDonalds during December of 2008.  Where a State of WV DOH Supervisor and a Thrasher Engineer attempts to hold Elderly Frank Lacaria responsible for the then situation below.

Their reasoning backfired, clashing with Frank Lacaria's well-known photographic memory and my meticulous documentation of the area that began in December 2002. This situation not only raised questions about the West Virginia government but also led McDonald's Corporation to place their trust in Frank and his son Anthony Lacaria, who had been again documenting the area's decline. Further details regarding this unfolding narrative can be found on the next page.
